Integrated management system policy

Based in Hradec Králové, KOVÁRNA a.s. is a manufacturer of open-die and closed-die forgings and rolled rings made of carbon steel or medium and high alloy steel for demanding applications. The forgings are mainly intended for the machine engineering, energy, chemicals, petrochemicals and oil industries. The forgings are produced to the customer’s requirements and delivered after heat treatment and machining. The forgings’ final properties are verified by testing (chemical, mechanical, metallographic, corrosion testing etc.), which is done by an external accredited laboratory. Non-destructive forgings tests (UT, PT and MT) are done by our own qualified personnel.

The company management advocates the following management principles for the current development stage:

1. Interconnected processes will be managed by a systematic management approach so that links are created in the company between the various organizational units and EN ISO 9001 and 14001 principles are applied.
2. Market research will be done in order to specify customers’ current requirements and predict future requirements with a view to ensuring the company’s products are competitive. The structure of machine engineering products made by the company will be maintained or expanded in line with the customer requirements thus identified.
3. Resources will be secured for managing and improving production and control processes in line with the demands on product quality. Company employees will be encouraged to participate with a view to leveraging their skills for developing and trialling new forging technologies and processing new materials, thus putting in place the right conditions for meeting customers’ requirements and improving the organization’s overall performance. Systematic and effective training will be performed to raise expertise to the required standard and to enhance employees’ understanding of the principles of quality assurance and the environment.
4. Efforts will be made to constantly improve the organization’s overall performance, including increasing the efficiency of production and preventing waste in the form of defective products. The company will constantly work with the suppliers of metallurgical materials and work with a view to achieving a convergence of interests in end product quality.
5. With reference to internal and external stakeholders in the conditions of the applicable legislation and standards, systematic efforts will be made to identify and review environmental impacts and prevent environmental pollution; targets will be set and achieved to improve the environment; purchased energy products and metallurgical material will be managed prudently; production processes will be analysed with regard to use of raw materials and energy; the quantity of generated waste will be reduced to cut air, water and soil pollution; occupational safety requirements will be respected; and all employees will be involved in efforts to protect the environment, thus constantly improving the environmental care system.
6. An effective system of customer feedback concerning delivered products will be put in place and measures will be adopted to ensure improvements. Decisions will be taken and measures adopted on the basis of analysis of the obtained information and data.
